HistorySpanning a history of more than 110 years and three generations, the Mayrsohn family has been a leader in the fresh fruit and vegetable business throughout the world. In 1899 young Mayrsohn initiated the family in the Produce Business when he began importing fresh fruits and vegetables from Cuba into the New York market. In 1947 Bernard (Barney) Mayrsohn followed his father's footsteps into
the Produce Business, after serving in the U.S. Army during the second
World War and graduating Cornell University, College of Agriculture. By
1959 Bernard was part owner and became president of the public company
Prevor-Mayrsohn International with offices in New York Hunts Point Market
and San Juan, Puerto Rico. |
